Kathy Brown is a legendary American recording artist, songwriter, and one of the most distinctive voices in house and dance music. With a career spanning more than three decades, her powerful, gospel-infused vocals have brought soul, strength, and emotional depth to dance floors around the world.

Kathy first achieved chart success with “Can’t Play Around” before gaining international recognition through the house anthem “Turn Me Out,” which she co-wrote and originally recorded with Praxis. The song became an enduring club classic, inspiring numerous versions and returning to the charts as “Turn Me Out (Turn to Sugar),” which reached No.1 on the Billboard Dance chart.

She was also the commanding lead vocalist on Soul Central’s “Strings of Life (Stronger on My Own),” which reached No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 1 on the UK Dance Chart. Throughout her career, Kathy has worked with an exceptional range of acclaimed artists, DJs and producers, including David Morales, Cevin Fisher, Dave Shaw, Seamus Haji, Micky More & Andy Tee, Soul Central, the Major Boys, Brookes Brothers and Kove.

Deeply rooted in gospel, soul and dance music, Kathy’s unmistakable voice, songwriting talent and electrifying performances have earned her enormous respect throughout the international music community.
